Panic

“Kernel panic recovery for your brain. You spot your ex across the room, your working memory dereferences a null pointer to their new partner, and your face freezes at 100% CPU. We catch the trap frame, dump core to your therapist, drop you into single-user mode, and boot you back into a graceful ‘hey! long time’ in under 900 ms. Enterprise: kdumpon your wedding day. SLA: no unrecovered oopses in prod.”

The Problem

Your brain is a single-CPU box running an ancient 2.6 kernel that has never been patched. Every day it processes hundreds of soft interrupts — small talk, eye contact, being asked how your weekend was — and mostly, it holds. But every so often you hit an unrecoverable fault: your boss walks in on you crying, your mother-in-law asks about the ring, or someone at a wedding says “so what do you do?” and your entire process table freezes with your mouth open.

your friend Jenna is watching this happen in real time

The Solution

Panic sits between your amygdala and your face. It watches interrupts, detects the fault before your CPU halts, dumps state to a safe partition (a Notes app entry, a therapist, a bathroom), and reboots you into a scripted greeting before Jenna can pull out her phone.

The Ask

$6M seed. 45% to the interrupt handler that catches SIGWEDDING in under 80 ms. 25% to a fleet of on-call therapists for kdump ingestion. 20% to legal, because “we watch your face for a living” keeps setting off an entirely different kind of alarm at the FTC. 10% to a neon sign in the lobby that reads DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SMILE WITH FEELINGS ENABLED.

Series A pitch: “We’re AWS uptime, but for your face at a wedding.”
